I am thinking of getting a used Evo 9... wondering how baby/kids friendly it is... esp newborns...

Suspension too stiff, too noisy etc..

Appreciate any comments from the bros here... cheers!

space wise its okie.. suspension too stiff can get softer ones.. too noisy --> due to removal of soundproofing , difficult to reverse.. too noisy due to exos etc, can be addressed.. use stock exos..

in stock form, evo 9 actually quite ok.. like normal sedan..not noisy..

I sold my 8 because the back seat, after putting a baby seat, leaves no room for my kid's legs. Maybe its because I am tall and my driver seat is pushed kinda back.

Now I bought the X cause space wise, its a whole lot more bigger. But u gotta compromise cause the boot is smaller. Nonetheless, I could still put TWO prams in.

E9 Boot is larger than X. Go see both cars and decide. If u like raw large goobs of power, go for the 4G63s. The 4B11 are for refined old man like moi.

X is also more subtle, especially wingless. Hehe. Sometimes, hard to tell ex from X these days.

If budget allow, get X lah, maybe the SST version. More relax. Not having said that, I think e9 still have its charm. Its boxy, but more imposing, 4G63 engine while old, is almost folklore status in the tuning world & parts are plentiful due to its long illustrated history. I am driving a e9 so I maybe bias. Hehe

I've been driving around w a Quinney Buzz in the boot for >3 yrs...the IX's boot can take that plus 2 collapsed McLarens and many bags of family groceries as well. (PS, dont bother bringing your kids for hi-adrenaline rides once they've gotten used to the NVH and torque :)
