Frenly frenly "lets see who can drive" or something like dat I don mind... In Aus, I went against 4l cars in my puny 1.6 colt... But it was in the intent that we were to see who can drive better around corners and so on... I wud be an idiot to push a 4l to show him dat I can go faster... theorectically correct... However, our realistic expectations (i.e. where the action counts (eg) on the road, track, strip...etc.) are often coloured & marred by paper specifications. I once told a Lexus saleswoman that a GS300, with its (inter alia) higher displacement & output figures in comparison w a 523i, would be outpaced and outhandled by the latter; she prob thought I was either illiterate or confused

The by-now-classic quasi-test between the LamboMurcie & Evo VIII FQ400 (TopGear) in '04 speaks volumes. (Of cos, we do know that given the hardware and setup of the FQ, the 400 Bhp was a way conservative tune...but still, it was 4cyl vs 12 cyl, 2l vs 6.*l, smaller output vs bigger output, small $ vs big $ (nevermind the drivers)...etc..)

The FQ was driven by JC, the presenter, whilst the Lambo was purportedly driven by the then British Touring Car Champ; ahh, that clip was indeed good for a laugh, esp when JC tried to get 'technical' regarding limitations/difficulties in driving the FQ

I've a friend with an 800+Nm CT9A who couldn't outdrag (i.e. straight line, rolling) a relatively stock and significantly heavier R35 w/ much lesser torque on paper. Of cos, peak torque of that "hi-horse" Evo came in much, much later than...well, most cars'.
